Teaser shots from our incredible photographer...

I hardly need to re-state how perfect our photographer Ken Clunk was. Absolutely everything, from the first meeting to the engagement shoot to the ridiculous amount of shooting the entire weekend of the wedding, was even more than we dreamed for our photos. They stayed up with us Friday night for the s'mores party, even cleaning up some of the mess at the end so we could get to bed at a reasonable hour (totally above and beyond the call of duty). Then they were up first thing in the morning so they didn't miss a moment of getting ready, and didn't stop shooting until everybody had cleared out of the reception.

Their dedication was so special to us, and only added to a weekend already full of love, family and friendship, and one heck of a wedding celebration! And the images! I just about died when I first saw our incredible engagement photos, and now I am at the edge of my seat waiting for the rest of the wedding photos to come back to us.

From the teaser shots he sent, we're in for some incredible shots that really captured the joy and emotion of the weekend. And, not only that, he did some incredible tinting and filtering to give many of them a sweet vintage look that fit with my vision of the event.

Reading each other's love letters/vows as we got ready.

The wedding rings handmade by me, and the book that served as the
"ring bearer pillow"

The locket I wrapped around my bouquet along with some vintage
lace from my Grandma Plank's collection. The left side is a photo of my
mom's parents on their first date, and the one on the right is my dad's
parents on their wedding day.

Exchanging rings. I actually couldn't get the ring over John's knuckle
in the crazy heat/humidity, so he had to help!

The kiss and the recessional. Such incredible shots!

First look on the bridge. Love how old this photo looks with the
black and white. Also, what an awesome angle! 

Portraits in the gazebo, and one of the coolest shots of the wedding party
on the wall overlooking the lake.

Close ups of the table decor; the handmade flowers (made out of tissue
paper and vintage sheet music), and photographs of our grandparents.

Some of the greatest party shots ever. Gives you a sense of how off the
hook our reception was (yes, I know I'm too white to say that).

More party shots. Look at the crazy energy in the room!

Being cute, and impromptu sing-alongs. We rocked out to Piano Man
and everybody linked up and sang along at the top of their lungs.

I cannot stress this enough: making a good investment in a photographer we loved was one of the best decisions of the entire wedding planning process. We felt so comfortable with him, and I'm sure he and wife were able to capture every detail to help the wedding day live on. So beyond excited for the next month to fly by so we can reminisce in style and treasure these memories forever!

Whaaaaaat. Photo Love.

Love love love these photos on Snippet and Ink. Photography is obviously by Feather Love (if you read as many wedding blogs as I do, you can pretty much learn to spot Feather Love's distinctive, vintagey style).

Love this duo. We're doing the whole framed-photos-of-
loved-ones thing too! It's a major part of the decor!

LOVE.

I love these photos so much I want to be this bride. Literally. Her style is perfection (that veil with that dress with that jacket), the black and white perfection that captured their best moments (walking out of the church, the cake cutting).

I want to duplicate these. Consciously. As in, their poses and their perfect little moments committed to film. That's how much I love the vibe of these photos. Gosh, I can't wait to make our own moments just like these. I hope we get photos that look this happy and genuinely bursting with joy.

Engagement Photos

Anybody who is a friend on Google+ or Facebook has probably seen the engagement photos by now. They went live this morning on our fabulous photographer's website. Check out the whole set here.

Ken Clunk and Angela Clunk rock so hard. We had a blast shooting the engagement photos and the results are beyond amazing. We are so thrilled with them. John keeps saying "I've never been so excited about photos before." It's only going to get better with the wedding day fast approaching! I know Ken will document our day in a way that will make it totally on par with any of the stuff I see on all those wedding blogs!

I like this shot because it looks classy and vintage. Also, this was early in the shoot, so my makeup and hair look their best. :)

"Bow ties are cool." -Dr. Who

Such a classy shot where I'm supposedly "fixing" his bow tie, though I
think I actually made it messier...

Playing with a sweet lens Ken rented for our shoot. See how the one
half is blurry but our whole side is in focus? Love it.

Friggin' beautiful black and white shot.

My only original fear in going with a digital-only photographer was
that I wouldn't get amazing black and white shots the way you do with
film. I don't miss the film now, that's for sure. Also, this is one of my
favorites in the whole set! 

Had to get a couple by Severance Hall. Love the tilted angle and how
he got the whole building in the shot. I love this one!

Love the coloring on this one, and John's laughter.

Perfection. For me, my personal favorite. I hoped beyond hope
we would get a good kiss shot, but this one manages to also
be so classy and vintagey (check out that foot pop) and the
colors are perfect and the framing of the shoot is perfection.

Such great sepia-goodness.

Such a beautiful and classic shot of us. I love how crisp the black and
white is; wearing white was a definite plus for these shots.

Perhaps the second favorite shot of the day. Something about the angle
of our legs and the colors and the way the shadows look at the edges
of the photo. The whole thing is awesome.

Slow dancing on the Severance lawn. Of all the
shots, this is one of the most popular with my
friends. Several have declared this the
best/favorite pic of the day.

The spot where it all began. See that front Stonehenge-thing? That's where
John first told me he loved me. Also, he proposed in this spot. Glad to
have a kiss picture here, where I'm on tip-toes because John is so tall.

The rock where the first "I love you" happened.

We brought a couple of records; I definitely wish we had done more
with this idea since it's so funny in practice. Perhaps we'll throw some
records in the car to bring to Mohican for pics before the wedding
rehearsal? There's just nothing like Coltrane staring down Stravinsky.

Like I said above, Ken is fabulous. The best investment of the wedding by far. We are so happy to be working with him and can't wait for the rest! I know he'll make our day look so incredible and capture everything brilliantly.

A Belated July 4th Celebration

I saw this beautiful engagement shoot on Style Me Pretty, and immediately fell in love with a single detail...(can you guess what it is?). Mike Colón Photographers + Visual Exposure Photography.

The other shoot that caught my eye last week was on Creature Comforts, with photography by Butterfly Sparks and Kelly Trontel Photography. I love the outfit. So classic and American without looking too costumey.

I'm not sure if this photo is the result of vintage film or clever editing of a digital image, but I love it. It's perfection. It looks just like a vintage photograph! Is there a way to make a digital image look like this? Somebody tell me more!

A singular photo. I love the saturated colors in this photo from her hair and her red lips. Plus, their skintone looks amazing and peachy and glowy. So adorable!

I love everything about the two photos; the sense of motion, the brightly colored confetti, the soft focus that gently blurs the bride. Gorgeous! Totally steal-worthy.

Bourbon Tasting

I saw this wonderfully styled small batch bourbon bar here, and was instantly smitten with the pretty crystal decanters and vintage glassware.

Not exactly something I'd do for a wedding, but would be fun for a more informal, cocktail-style party with a few bourbon-aficionado friends.
